Notebook

Texas Weekly's Notebook is designed to bring you Texas political and government news, documents and other interesting tidbits between our regular weekly newsletters. You'll get to see what's coming in as we put each issue together.

When you're logged onto our website, you can move between the Current Issue, News Clips, and Notebook by selecting your choice in the shaded bar above.

Full Notebook writeups are for subscribers only, but anyone can read headlines from new items as they're posted. Better yet, the postings can be read on any Internet-enabled PC, phone or PDA, alerting you to new items as we post them.

You'll find a great description of how this works at the "back in skinny jeans" blog, in a piece titled "How to explain RSS the Oprah way."

Add Notebook to your preferred news reader by pasting in the following URL:

Don't have a newsreader but want to monitor changes here and on other websites without looking at each of them every 15 minutes? You can consolidate all of your newsfeeds at one web address, which allows you to monitor Notebook and any other feeds you're watching from anything that'll run a web browser, whether it's a computer, a phone, a PDA, or George Jetson's toaster. We've had good luck with www.bloglines.com; it has the signal advantage of being free.

Or you can download one of these recommended reader programs for your computer, fire it up, paste in Texas Weekly and your other favorite links, and you're on your way.
